WHO'S THE BOSS?

On 'Who's The Boss?', Tony Danza played a homemaker from Brooklyn. Judith Light played a breadwinner from Connecticut. Of her character, Judith observed, "She's a conservative, stuffy and super-straight." Of his character, Tony remarked, "He's more aware of the real world."

"TV," Judith pointed out, "is a way to reach people. It's communications." Martin Cohan and Blake Hunter wrote the lyrics of the show's theme song, 'Brand New Life'. Said Martin, "Angela is a terrific advertising executive, but in the home she is the Connecticut klutz. She plays the vulnerable kind of mixed up gal. We've written toward that."

'Who's The Boss?' made its television debut in 1984. "I look back upon (1984) with more than a bit of bewilderment," Judith made known. "It's tough for a new television series to gain an audience under any circumstances. But we accomplished a lot, considering how viewers rejected the ABC schedule and the fact we were in 3 different time periods. In many ways, our series was ignored by both the audience and the critics. We were lost in a shuffle since everyone was so busy writing about the disastrous aspect of the ABC schedule and the overall decline of the network. When we show up on ABC's Tuesday night schedule in September (1985), we'll probably be considered a new series by many viewers who missed us (in 1984)."

The show wrapped in April 1992 with the announcer said at the closing credits, "All of us at ABC want to thank all the people on 'Who The Boss?' for 8 wonderful years."
