PSYCHIC

Dallas, November 22 1963: Inevitable or surprise?

George Cunningham-Tee pointed out in 1982, "For years ahead of the fateful day, the tragedy had sent out its psychic message and many sensitives (such as Jeane Dixon and Sydney Omarr) had heard it." Sydney Omarr mentioned in 1985, "President Marcos of the Philippines keeps an array of faith healers, psychics and astrologers 'on call'. Ronald Reagan's interest in astrology is an 'open secret'. There has only been one Gemini President of the U.S. He was John F. Kennedy (George H. W. Bush was the only other Gemini). There has been one President born on the nation's July 4 birthday – Calvin Coolidge. Both Theodore and Franklin Roosevelt were concerned with astrology, were familiar with their own horoscopes. The same can be said for many signers of the Declaration of Independence."

Before he took office in November 1960, John F. Kennedy was said aware of the "20-year curse". "It's a jinx and I'm the one to break the jinx," he had said.

It all started on October 5, 1813. General William Henry Harrison won The Battle of the Thames. Shawnee leader the shaman (medicine man) Tecumseh died. His brother, The Prophet, reportedly put a curse on General Harrison and the United States that General Harrison and all future Presidents elected in a year evenly divisible by 20 would die while serving in office.

1840 : William Henry Harrison
1860 : Abraham Lincoln
1880 : James A. Garfield
1900 : William McKinley
1920 : Warren G. Harding
1940 : Franklin D. Roosevelt
1960 : John F. Kennedy

After 7 Presidents faced the curse, the jinx finally died off when Ronald Reagan - elected in 1980 - broke the 20-year cycle chain of events. Zachary Taylor - elected in 1848 - also died in office. But it was said because he fought against Tecumseh and the Shawnee in the Battle of Tippecanoe (November 7, 1811).

Jess Stearn wrote 'Adventures into the Psychic' in 1969. He was first introduced to the world of the psychic in 1952,  "Maya Perez was great. She predicted that I’d leave the newspaper business, that I’d write dozens of books and that the 3rd book would become a best-seller." His 3rd book, 'The Sixth Man' (1961) about homosexuals was a best-seller.

"Then in my interviews as a reporter," he recounted, "I became aware of how many people, particularly women and especially actresses, were attuned to astrology, palmistry. This really deepened my interest in the field. I remember discussing fortune tellers with Grace Kelly. She told me about one reader who predicted she’d become a famous actress at a time when she couldn’t even land a modeling job. And I remember Grace saying, 'But the fortune teller did tell me the silliest thing. She said I’d become a Princess.'"

Jess believed, "Women outnumber men psychics 10 to 1. Edgar Cayce and a few others are clearly exceptions. I have no doubt that women are far more psychic than men. Men are the conscious thinkers; women function largely by using their unconscious and that’s where the psychic lies. Because the woman is the child bearer, she must understand the needs and wants of her child even before it is born. And of course, we’ve all heard of women who instinctively knew that their sons were wounded or killed in war. Although more and more women recently (1969) have entered the business world and consequently have trained their conscious minds to function logically, it will take several generations before women lose their psychic advantage over men. And who knows, women might revolt and go back to the home before then."
